Through my own experiences in ministry, I have come to realise that there is nothing better than ministering from a healthy place. At the same time, ministering from an unhealthy place can be deeply detrimental to ourselves, our families, and our communities. Over the years, I have experienced both great joy in ministry and seasons of challenges, pain, and struggle. Sometimes these painful moments were because of my own doing, and other times because of what was done to me. Through it all, I have come to appreciate the truth of something a colleague and I said about ministry: “In ministry we often see the worst of the world, but we are called to offer the best”.
As leaders in the church, we all wrestle with what it means to be human in a broken world. Coaching is a way for someone to walk alongside us to grow into our best selves while living in the grace of God. I am privileged to get to journey alongside others in a coaching relationship that is accepting and fosters growth.
I have over 20 years of experience in various areas of ministry ranging from youth and children’s ministry through to senior ministry positions. I understand the joy and challenge of ministry, and the impact it can have on our families. I have seen some of the best, and some of the worst, that ministry offers, and I would love the privilege of supporting others through coaching.
I am married to Charlie, who is also a minister, although we have rarely served in the same church. Together we have two teenage children. In 2024 we immigrated to New Zealand from South Africa, which has been both an incredible and challenging journey.
