Barry Farmilo
I have served in pastoral leadership in New Zealand for over 30 years. Throughout that time, I have had the privilege to walk alongside congregations through seasons of growth, change, challenge, and renewal, and this has given me a deep appreciation of both the privilege and responsibility carried by leaders .
I was born in Hobart, Australia and moved to New Zealand at 22yrs old to attend a YWAM ( Youth with a Mission) training course which was the start of my ministry journey.
I have served with my wife Linda in full time ministry since the early 1990’s after the completion of my Pastoral Ministry Studies. We planted and established a church in Nelson in our early ministry years. Those pioneering years taught us many lessons about faith, leadership, resilience, and the importance of building a healthy Christian community.
In 1997, we moved to Auckland and were Senior Pastors of a church on the North Shore, where we served until transitioning from this role in 2023.
Having experienced church planting, long-term pastoral leadership, and leadership transition firsthand, I understand many of the opportunities and pressures leaders face.
I am passionate about helping church leaders remain healthy, effective, and grounded in their calling as they discern God's direction for the next season.
Linda and I have been married for 46 years, have three adult children and four awesome grandchildren.
My life ministry experiences continue to shape my understanding of the joys and challenges of ministry, and Gods faithfulness and goodness in this journey.
My desire is to come alongside and support leaders and Pastors as they seek to serve faithfully and sustainably over the long term.
I would love to walk alongside you as your Coach, and invite you to reach out.
