Emotionally Healthy Spirituality

Emotionally Healthy Discipleship Semester 1

Are you ready to become the type of leader that equips disciples who will change the world?

The School of Emotionally Healthy Leadership (SEHL) Aotearoa is an intensive spiritual formation experience designed exclusively for pastors and leaders. The core content is based on the two parts of the flagship discipleship course: Emotionally Healthy Spirituality (8 weeks) & Emotionally Healthy Relationships (8 weeks).

In this transformational journey, you will learn and engage with the foundational principles that underpin Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, as well as practices and skills that underpin the Emotionally Healthy Relationships course. This course is augmented by additional reading, daily devotions and leadership specific applications by Pete Scazzero.

The SEHL Aotearoa course will be facilitated by Dallas Harema and an experienced team of Table Leaders. This SEHL experience will revolutionise the way you live and lead others.

Please note: These courses are run via Zoom. Places are very limited

Course Offerings:

It is advisable to do the whole 16 week school, however, it is possible to just complete either of the 8 week semesters below. We will consider people in leadership positions, or on pathways to leadership.  We also highly recommend registering your team or staff to do this together. Please do contact us with any questions you may be carrying. Contact Dallas on dharema@laidlaw.ac.nz

After 30+ years of leadership and ministry experience, I'm more committed than ever to anything that helps me to lead in healthy ways so that I, and those in my care, can thrive. The SEHL programme supported this journey towards increasing wholeness and health by putting great information into my hands within the context of safe and supportive community. The team of facilitators who led the course were knowledgeable guides who offered a relaxed, confidential, and professional programme for us. If you want a combination of well-researched material, practical tools to engage with, and a supportive community to learn alongside, this might be what you're looking for.

Facilitator - Dallas Harema

Dallas Harema (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Pākehā) is a coach, supervisor, facilitator, counsellor, and formation & discipleship practitioner with 20 years experience in and alongside churches, various ministries, organisations, individuals and partnerships supporting them to grow in emotional, spiritual, relational and team health.

He is the Director of the School of Emotionally Healthy Leadership Aotearoa with a wider background in organisational culture & development, social work, lecturing and cultural capability. Dallas brings a holistic approach to leadership and enjoys weaving together theology and formation, reflective practice, practically rooted wisdom and real talk.

He is particularly passionate about the intersection between contemplative spirituality and emotional health, believing that when we are better equipped with a deeper awareness of ourselves, we are then better positioned with the potential to cultivate healthy inner worlds, relationships and cultures that are ultimately integrated with God’s story.
