My passion is to be on the journey with people and to help them understand that their story is part of God’s story.  Initially I trained in Horticulture and ran a family business for 6 years, where I met my wife Gillian, who is a GP.  We have two adult children and two grandchildren.

At the end of Bible College (BCNZ), Gillian and I were planning to head overseas using our horticultural and medical skills, when God challenged us to lead a local church and teach at Te Nikau Bible Training Centre.  After 10yrs I transitioned the local church to a younger couple and planted a church in Wellington. I was told Wellington was “the graveyard of preachers” and after a further 10yrs I transitioned this church to a younger couple and shifted to Christchurch 6 months before the first earthquake in September 2010.

I was in Christchurch for 9.5yrs and involved in helping the congregation and community through the disaster recovery before transitioning the church to a younger couple and shifting to Hamilton.  My passion is to help all people, especially ministers and church leaders to transition well.  This was the topic of my D.Min thesis.

I have experience in all areas of church ministry including supervision of ministers, governance on the National Council of our Movement and chairperson of  the National Trust Board for several years.  I grew up in an Anglican Church and have been an ordained minister in Acts Churches of NZ (formerly Apostolic) a Pentecostal denomination for the last 35yrs.

I love growing anything that you can eat, enjoy fishing and have been learning to fly.  My wife Gillian and I enjoy going on adventures together.
