Rev. Dr Graeme Flett
PhD, MMin (Distinction), BMin ACC
I was raised in the Bay of Plenty and now share life with my wife, Rev. Dr Linda Flett, recently retired from hospital chaplaincy. Together, we delight in our three married daughters and seven grandchildren. When not teaching or ministering, I find joy in woodworking—shaping timber into beautiful forms or dreaming up new projects around our home.
My call to ministry emerged in my late twenties, leading a small Pentecostal congregation in Tauranga before a season of theological study and a return to pastoral leadership. Thirteen years in Christchurch shaped me profoundly as I helped guide a creative, missional congregation navigating change and exploring new ways of being Church. These experiences formed my understanding of liminality, organisational culture, and the spiritual dynamics of transition.
For the past thirteen years, I have served at Laidlaw College, co‑leading the internship programme and forming students for pastoral ministry. My commitment to developing pastoral leaders reaches back to my early years as a youth leader, where authentic relationships and community were central to my life and service.
My ministry journey has been shaped by both the beauty and the challenges of pastoral life, revealing God’s providence through vulnerability and limitation. I’m committed to a posture of faithful presence—attentive to the subtle movements of grace in people and communities.
My work centres on embodied faith, reflective practice, and missional imagination within pastoral leadership. I am an ordained Elim Pastor, an ACC‑credentialed coach with the International Coaching Federation, and currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Pastoral Supervision.
